So I've had this cork board since I was 13 and it was just laying around collecting dust. So I decided to put it to some use in my kitchen. The problem was that it was just so "Blah".
So I went to work. First I wiped the thing down with a damp cloth. Then I grabbed my paint and brush. I used Apple Barrel Colors Misty White acrylic craft paint and did a dry brush of the paint then wiped it off with a paper towel.
I think it came out really nice. I like the "white wash" look and you can still see some of the wood. Next was to do some kind of design, cause it still looked alittle "blah". At first I was going to do a butterfly or even owl, but then I decided that it might not go well when I redo my kitchen. So I decided to go with a monogram of an H. Here is the finished project.
A close up of the H. I'm happy at how it turned out.
